Dear Friends,

I’m running for re-election as Goleta’s Mayor this November 2024 to continue to protect and preserve Goleta as a great place to live, work and play.

The State of our City is very strong, with a vibrant economy, effective public safety, and a high quality of life. I’m committed to carefully managing growth and the impacts resulting from so many more wanting to live and work here.

Continuing to protect Goleta’s special character and environment is a top priority. I proudly supported Goleta’s 2012 Agricultural Protection Initiative that has successfully protected Goleta’s 5 largest agricultural parcels, including Bishop Ranch, from development. And I am equally proud that we unanimously placed on this November 2024 ballot an initiative to extend this protection another 20 years.

I’m committed to working hard to minimize the impacts of state mandated housing developments both in Goleta and on our borders, while working to maximize the affordability of the units in each project. I’ll continue to aggressively seek funding to repair our infrastructure, especially our roads and the Cathedral Oaks crib wall. And I’ll keep fighting to safeguard Goleta’s crown jewels such as Ellwood Butterfly Preserve, our valued beaches and open spaces, meandering creeks, and cherished neighborhood parks.

I’m honored that Mayor Pro-Tem Reyes-Martín, all the Goleta City Council members, Kasdin, Kyriaco, Richards, and many other community leaders and organizations are supporting my re-election as your mayor.

It’s been a true privilege serving as Goleta’s Mayor. With your vote, I’ll continue to use my experience to keep Goleta a strong city that we and future generations can be proud to call home.

Sincerely,
